The Modern and Moody Beverage Center

The modern beverage center features rift cut white oak cabinetry, ceramic tile backsplash, quartz countertops, wine fridge, integrated refrigerator drawers, brushed brass elements, and fireclay basin. In this sleek beverage center design, moody meets modern with unique storage options that can take you from daytime to nighttime events. “It’s both a visual centerpiece and a hardworking utility zone,” Normandy Designer Abby Osborn says. “Whether you’re preparing your morning coffee or hosting a wine tasting, a space like this can offer a luxurious experience with its high-end finishes and features.”

The two-tone design offers a linear approach that creates rich depth. The rift-cut white oak cabinetry is finished in a near-black stain that still allows a soft brown undertone to glow through; slim shaker-style cabinet doors give a modern edge. On the lighter-toned upper cabinets, the design turns contemporary with slab-style glass doors.

“Rift-cut white oak gives natural depth and richness without overwhelming the space with bold grain,” Abby says. “And instead of traditional hardware on the upper cabinets, you can pull open from the bottom edge, so the glass doors feel weightless and uninterrupted.”

The backsplash centers the design with a striking layer. A patterned ceramic tile with a metallic glaze reflects light subtly across its geometric, slightly three-dimensional surface. It pairs beautifully with the quartz countertops, which provide a crisp, low-maintenance work surface for daily use.

Beyond aesthetics, this beverage center is everything you need for an entertaining area. Two integrated refrigerator drawers and a dedicated wine fridge offer beverage storage with ease. Custom drawers organize coffee supplies, while a concealed coat closet with a hanging rack adds unexpected versatility. Trash storage is seamlessly built in, reinforcing the bar’s dual role as a hospitality hub and everyday utility zone.

At the sink, a fireclay basin with a gunmetal finish introduces another layer of depth and durability, while brushed brass hardware throughout gives a soft, elegant glow. “Brushed brass brings just enough warmth to balance the darker wood tones,” Abby says. “These metallic finishes and linear design complement the nearby fireplace area, a beautiful display of modern contrast.”The modern beverage center features rift cut white oak cabinetry, ceramic tile backsplash, quartz countertops, wine fridge, integrated refrigerator drawers, brushed brass elements, and fireclay basin.

The result is a beverage and hosting center that feels equal parts dramatic, modern, and practical. “Great design lives at the intersection of beauty and function,” Abby says.

The Modern Classic Primary Bath

The modern classic primary bath features walnut console vanity topped with quartzite countertop and paired with a textured wallpaper backsplash. Shower contains textured porcelain tile, rain head, shower bench and shaving niche. Freestanding tub makes a sculptural statement on a porcelain tile floor. This luminous primary bathroom strikes the perfect balance between classic and modern. “There’s a strong level of traditional detail through the vanity, finishes, color palette and arch elements, but the fixtures give it a modern edge,” Normandy Designer Abby Osborn says. “It’s a calming, clean design that still captures detail and can fit into nearly any home aesthetic.”

At the heart of this transitional bathroom design is a stunning walnut console vanity, designed as a furniture-style centerpiece rather than a built-in cabinet. “We chose drawers over doors and built the vanity as one complete piece, so it reads like freestanding furniture,” Abby says. The modern classic primary bath features walnut console vanity topped with quartzite countertop and paired with a textured wallpaper backsplash. Topped with a quartzite countertop and paired with a textured wallpaper backsplash that adds softness, the vanity features integrated cabinet pulls that sit flush for a seamless look.

In the shower, textured porcelain tile creates visual interest within the refined profile. “The large-format tile leans more modern, with fewer grout lines to give you a much cleaner look,” Abby notes. The shower is outfitted with a rain shower head, along with a bench and a shaving niche for comfort and usability.

Near the window, the freestanding tub makes a sculptural statement. With its Victorian-inspired form crafted from volcanic stone, it offers both old-world charm and modern performance. “The material helps retain heat, keeping bathwater warm longer,” says Abby.

Smart storage solutions elevate daily living. A linen cabinet with open shelving and a built-in hamper keeps essentials organized, and two recessed medicine cabinets — one equipped with an electrical outlet — offer discreet convenience. U-shaped top-drawer interiors in the vanity fit around fixed plumbing. Even the toilet room was carefully considered, featuring a skirted toilet for a cleaner, more streamlined appearance.

Underfoot, custom-laid porcelain floor tile leans more traditional, while polished nickel hardware adds a touch of luxe throughout the space. The result is a bathroom that feels timeless yet current — an expertly layered retreat where thoughtful design details quietly elevate everyday routines.
