We had a great time at the Hinsdale Fall Family Fest, as you can see from some of these great photos. We thought it would be fun to bring a petting zoo, and it seemed to be quite a hit with the costumed set. If you attended this year’s event, we hope you stopped by to say “Hello”!
The shorter days and crisp autumn air let us know that winter is on its way. Here are a few maintenance reminders to get your home in shape for the coming months:
Service your furnace, heaters, water heater, and gas logs
Clean chimney flues, wood stoves, and barbecues
Change or clean furnace filter
Disconnect hoses from outside spigots
Remove all paints, caulks, and liquid materials from garage or garden sheds
Winterize lawn, plants, and shrubs
Set thermostats and ductwork dampers for winter
Clean gutters and downspouts during and after the leaves fall
Clean outside window wells and basement stairs for clear drainage
Do you have any additional routine fall maintenance items for your home? We’d love to hear what’s on your to-do list to prepare for those chilly Chicago winters
