Latest Bathroom Color Trends

bathroom colorsThere are so many different color schemes and palettes out there for homeowners to choose from, and frankly, it can be overwhelming.ย  Normandy Designer Karen Chanan was kind enough to take some time and share the top bathroom color trends she’s seeing right now.

1. “Blues are so popular in bathrooms.ย  No matter the shade, it exudes such a sense of calm and relaxation,” commented Karen,ย ” At the beginning and end of the day, that’s what people want.

2.ย  Natural and neutral tones leaning towards the cooler color palettes are something
homeowners like because of the timeless appeal.ย  It’s not something they’re going to get tired of in a couple of years. Natural tones are great for achieving the spa-like aesthetic homeowners seek.

3.ย  In order to keep a bathroom with neutral tones fromย looking bland, it’s becoming very popular to include accent colors in the tile work.ย  Not necessarily bright pops of color, though, still coming back around to the whole bathroom providing a calming sensation with soft tones.”

New Spin on Bathroom Banjo Countertops

Wood bathroom vanity, bidet toilet and banjo countertop in a small bathroom Bathrooms seem to never quite have enough storage space, something that is especially true for smaller bathrooms. When it comes to finding creative ways to make the most of every inch, it pays to consider every option to maximize your bathroom’s storage space.

While cabinets and shelves rightly get a lot of attention when talking about storage and organization, you can also find some extra usable space by extending your bathroom vanity countertop.

A banjo countertop is what designers call the unique shape of a countertop that starts at a standard size and depth for your bathroom vanity but then narrows down to a more shallow depth as it carries over the tank of the toilet.

Traditionally, it was used primarily for more countertop space; however, oftentimes today it’s completed with a cabinetry tower on top of it to create additional storage.

They can be an especially useful storage solution in a smaller bathroom and putting something like a cabinetry tower on top of the banjo countertop helps tie it in with the rest of the vanity.ย  One thing to keep in mind with banjo countertops is that the toilet tank needs to be much lower than the countertop to access the tank, something to keep in mind as you’re making your toilet selection for your remodel.
