The Suite Life for Sisters

Bathroom for two sistersThere are two little girls in Winnetka who are definitely living the Suite Life. Normandy Designerโ€™s ย Troy Pavelka and Kathryn Oโ€™Donovan created a โ€œsister suiteโ€ above the garage that gave these girls their own bedrooms, a hangout space and their very own bathroom to share. There are some special touches to this bathroom that keep mornings harmonious.

Suite Design tips:
โ€ขTwo sinks means no waiting to brush your teeth or washing up – and their own towels for drying.

โ€ขTheir own medicine cabinet means no fighting for space to store their favorite products.

โ€ขDouble the fun with two selfie-worthy mirrors for the teenage years.

โ€ขSeparate toilet and shower area from the double vanity for privacy

โ€ขSeparate outlets in strategic spots to plug in their styling tool of choice and not get in each otherโ€™s way.

This bathroom is sure to keep that sisterly love going strong. For more bathroom inspiration follow us on Instagram or Facebook, or get started on your own addition or renovation by attending one of our workshops.

Simple and Fresh White Kitchen

Before Picture of Kitchen RemodelA kitchen has to run smoothly to be livable (and likeable). โ€œThe original kitchen was outdated and on the smaller side,โ€ said Normandy Designer Vince Weber. The young homeowners wanted to take full advantage of their space to fit their busy lifestyle.โ€

First up, we needed to get a little more space. โ€œThey wanted a center island with an open layout,โ€ added Vince. โ€œ In order to do that, we took down a wall and borrowed space from their dining room.โ€

Each component in this compact but mighty kitchen was perfectly planned, from the layout and appliances to the custom wood hood.

โ€œThey wanted a clean, timeless look, so we paired white cabinets with white subwayย backsplash tiles, iceberg quartzite countertops, and stainless steel appliances to create a backdrop that’s simple and fresh,โ€ added Vince. โ€œWe added drawers in the island for storage and popped a microwave in there as well for easy access. We also created a free standing pantry and dry bar for their frequent entertaining.โ€

Center Island with drawers and microwaveNothing beats a clean crisp kitchen to bring out that open and airy feeling. Are you trying to squeeze every inch out of your home?
