An Entry Way that Wows!

The stairs may be the last place a homeowner thinks about updating and they are easy to overlook. But they often dominate the layout and updating them can bring a fresh and modern perspective to your home. “I love the architectural details of this new railing,” said Normandy Designer Liz Reifschneider. “The wood banister combined with dark iron balusters revitalize the foyer and makes you take notice.”

Wood and wrought iron Staircase“The transformation of this entry way is beautiful and it makes you feel like you are not looking at the same staircase,” added Liz. “It is elegant and welcoming and I am thrilled with how it turned out.”

If you’re planning a remodel or contemplating more extensive changes to your home, don’t forget about your staircase. Feel free to set up a time with Liz to talk about the possibilities. Having Fun With Doors

Glass front cabinet Doors

Are you looking for something other than simple shaker cabinets? Then look no further. We have put together a parade of cabinet doors that are sure to please. “Design doesn’t have to follow any certain pattern to be tailor-made to fit your style,” said Normandy Designer Kathryn O’Donovan. “One way to mix it up is to combine different cabinet door styles in your space.”

“Multiple cabinet styles are better than one when it comes to designing your kitchen,” said Normandy Designer Laura Barber. “It creates contrasting and noteworthy visual interest.”

The key to pulling off this combo is to select complementary door styles. If you are going for a more modern or transitional look, keep both door styles clean and simple. But one can have a bit more detail such as crisscross mullion glass or wire mesh. If you are going for a traditional look, choose door styles that have ornate moldings and details to give it a furniture look.

It’s time to mix and match your cabinets to match your personality, giving your home a unique look that goes beyond cookie cutter. If you are contemplating a kitchen or bath remodel, you can set up a time with one of our designers to talk about the possibilities.
