Custom-Built Entertainment Center

As you get ready to hibernate for the winter, you will most likely spend a great deal of time in your favorite hibernation spot โ€“ your family room. One of the best ways to stay cozy and happy is a custom entertainment center built around your needs, wants and your roomโ€™s layout.

โ€œThis floor to ceiling media center was retro-fit around the existing cabinet according to the familyโ€™s wish list. They needed a bigger opening to hold their TV, but wanted to keep their extra seating and storage,โ€ said Normandy Designer Kathryn Oโ€™Donovan. โ€œThe shallow upper cabinets are deep enough for books and their TV fits perfectly now, but it wonโ€™t block the natural light from the windows.โ€

โ€œPainting the window seats the same color as the cabinet anchors the entertainment center and ties it all together making it a focal point in the room,โ€ added Kathryn.

The beauty of a custom-built entertainment center is that it caters to your needs and you choose how your center works. If you are planning a remodel or design change to your home, you can set up a time with Kathryn to talk about the possibilities. Cheers to Basement Bars

After a long day, nothing beats a relaxing glass of wine or a craft cocktail with family and friendsโ€“ which is why many homeowners are taking advantage of unused living space to build their own basement bar. An at-home bar in your basement provides a prime spot for entertaining.

โ€œFrom custom cabinetry to comfy bar stools and lounge areas with a TV, basement barrooms include every detail for upscale entertaining these days,โ€ said Normandy Designer Jennifer Cross. โ€œHomeowners want a chic design with a sophisticated atmosphere.โ€

โ€œBasements are looking more like your friendly neighborhood place to share a cold one with friends or a sleek nightclub than someoneโ€™s lower level,โ€ added Jennifer. โ€œSome have even included a music studio for โ€˜night outโ€™ jam sessions.โ€

A stylish basement bar is something worth celebrating and maybe even worth emulating in your home. If you are thinking of remodeling your basement or another space in your home, you can set up a time with Jennifer to talk about the possibilities.
