Refrigerator Drawers For Kitchen Organization

Refrigerator and freezer drawers are a fantastic way to really organize your kitchen staples. Whether they’re used for fresh produce, beverages or frozen foods, it’s great to have that designated area that not only increases organization, but is an added convenience for busy families.

Refrigerator drawers are a particular favorite among families with young children. They let you keep healthy snacks down at a childโ€™s level, and many drawers even have a clear plastic sliding lid on the top of the drawer so little ones can take as much time as they need to make a selection without letting all the cold air out.

There are two primary types of refrigerator and freezer drawers. The stand-alone option, which is just a pair of lower drawers that can be placed virtually anywhere in your kitchen cabinetry. You can leave the stainless steel fronts exposed or you can clad them in drawer fronts so they disappear into the rest of your cabinetry. The second way youโ€™ll find these handy drawers is as part of an integrated refrigeration system that offers a traditional door above and drawers below. Choosing the right option depends on your kitchenโ€™s layout and how you plan to use them.

Rethinking your kitchen’s refrigeration may start your head spinning about other ways to step up your kitchen’s functionality. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter to find your daily dose of design inspiration.

Glam Coffee Bar Ideas

gray cabinetry created by normandy designer kathryn o'donovanNormandy Designer Kathryn O’Donovanย took on the task of redesigning our dated coffee bar in the showroomย – and she did a fabulous job!ย  “I decided, overall, it should represent a transitional aesthetic with a touch of glam,” says Kathryn. ย “Transitional is the number one style in the industry right now and it is definitely what Normandy designers are designing andย incorporating into many current projects.”blue and gray kitchen ideas created by normandy designer kathryn o'donovan

When it came to the color scheme, Kathryn was able to incorporate trends she’s seeing in the industry.ย  “Greys are the new beige so I wanted to do a dark rich charcoal grey to offset all the glitz in the antiqued mirrors and glass tile. In order for it to not appear too dark, I infused pops of coordinating colors with the glass tile, the sink and the back of the open wall cabinet,” commented Kathryn.

Kathryn’s favorite part of the new coffee bar?ย  “There’s too many to pick just one,” joked Kathryn.ย  “I love the antiqued mirrors, the crystal knobs, and the cubbies for the coffee flavors.ย I can’t forget the Rohl triflowย filtered faucet (the water is so good!), the recessed wall niche to hide coffee bar items… All in all, I just love how well the whole project came together.”
