Fiandre Porcelain Countertop

A couple of Normandy Designers were able to attend KBIS 2013 and they came back with lots of great

popular kitchen fixture ideasinfo on trends they noticed and they’re favorite parts of the show.ย  NKBA member and Normandy Designer, Terry Kenney,ย shares her favorites from KBIS.”The show was a little smaller this year, which made it easier to cover,” says Terry.ย  “The energy was so positive the entire weekend, and the show didn’t disappoint with the innovative products on the market.ย  My favorite product was a porcelainย slab offered by Fiandre – the movement in it is just stunning and I love the extremely high durability of the material, which is great forย any upcoming kitchen remodeling you may haveย .”

toilet technology“A couple trends I noticed were that whites are still a very popular choice for countertops and polished surfaces and chrome for faucets and fixtures ,” commented Terry.ย  “I also took note of the amount of technology and research that’s being directed toward water savings in products such as toilets, they’re down to .6 gallons/flush, which is a huge improvement.”

Oak Park Family Center Hosts 28th Annual Kitchen Walk

Oak Park kitchen walkโ€œOne day. 10 kitchens. Endless inspiration,โ€ is the tagline for the 28th Parenthesis Family Center Kitchen Walk in Oak Park, and with preparations in full swing, the ten stunning kitchens to be featured have been carefully selected.ย  Thereโ€™s one kitchen that we’re quite fond of, in particular, that was created by Normandy Designer Stephanie Bryant, CKD, and has been featured in numerous publications and won multiple awards.ย  It is located in a historic neighborhood with Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architecture and it was important to the homeowners that Bryant be sensitive to the style, but not stress it in the new design.ย  โ€œThe final result is a beautiful kitchen that complements the rest of the home while making a statement of its own with contemporary light fixtures and warm hues,โ€ says Stephanie.

โ€œThis kitchen has gained so much publicity and Iโ€™m thrilled that it is now featured in something that truly benefits the community,โ€ commented Stephanie.ย  What originated 28 years ago as a kitchen walk that sold 400 tickets has evolved into an event that is attended by over 1,000 people, and is the Parenthesis Family Center’s biggest fundraiser of the year raising over $50,000 for their programs.ย  โ€œItโ€™s events like these that make a community closer, more supportive, and just stronger all around,โ€ says Stephanie.ย  โ€œIโ€™m going to be there to show my support and encourage anyone that can make it to do so; this inside look of 10 remarkable kitchens is great for inspiration.โ€

The event will be held on April 27, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., showcasing kitchens in Oak Park and River Forest.ย  Normandy has two free tickets available (an $80 value) to the first person to claim them and can come in to pick them up at the Normandy Remodeling Design Showroom (440 E Ogden Ave, Hinsdale IL) by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28.ย  To claim, call 630-455-3148 or email info@normandyremodeling.com

Tickets can also be purchased online or at supporting venues.ย Check outย more photos of Stephanie’s beautiful project, including the master bedroom and bathroom!
