Oak Park Family Center Hosts 28th Annual Kitchen Walk

Oak Park kitchen walk“One day. 10 kitchens. Endless inspiration,” is the tagline for the 28th Parenthesis Family Center Kitchen Walk in Oak Park, and with preparations in full swing, the ten stunning kitchens to be featured have been carefully selected.  There’s one kitchen that we’re quite fond of, in particular, that was created by Normandy Designer Stephanie Bryant, CKD, and has been featured in numerous publications and won multiple awards.  It is located in a historic neighborhood with Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architecture and it was important to the homeowners that Bryant be sensitive to the style, but not stress it in the new design.  “The final result is a beautiful kitchen that complements the rest of the home while making a statement of its own with contemporary light fixtures and warm hues,” says Stephanie.

“This kitchen has gained so much publicity and I’m thrilled that it is now featured in something that truly benefits the community,” commented Stephanie.  What originated 28 years ago as a kitchen walk that sold 400 tickets has evolved into an event that is attended by over 1,000 people, and is the Parenthesis Family Center’s biggest fundraiser of the year raising over $50,000 for their programs.  “It’s events like these that make a community closer, more supportive, and just stronger all around,” says Stephanie.  “I’m going to be there to show my support and encourage anyone that can make it to do so; this inside look of 10 remarkable kitchens is great for inspiration.”

The event will be held on April 27, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., showcasing kitchens in Oak Park and River Forest.  Normandy has two free tickets available (an $80 value) to the first person to claim them and can come in to pick them up at the Normandy Remodeling Design Showroom (440 E Ogden Ave, Hinsdale IL) by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28.  To claim, call 630-455-3148 or email info@normandyremodeling.com

Tickets can also be purchased online or at supporting venues. Check out more photos of Stephanie’s beautiful project, including the master bedroom and bathroom!

Normandy Welcomes New Designer: Terry Kenney

terry kenney drury design We are happy to announce that the award-winning designer, Terry Kenney, has joined the Normandy team!  Terry attended the Harrington College of Design and has over 16 years of design experience, including extensive knowledge of kitchen and bathroom design that she acquired at Drury Design.  “Although I’ve had a great experience in the remodeling industry thus far, I was looking to step up my career to the next level in the remodeling industry.  Normandy Remodeling allows me to expand my knowledge base to other areas of remodeling and larger scopes of work,” says Terry.  “I’m very excited to be with Normandy, they’re very efficient in what they do and that gives me more time to concentrate on what I do best – which is design.”

Terry is an active member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association’s local chapter, serving as chairman of their “Design Visions” Design Competition Committee for 2013 and as the Vice President of Membership.  “Terry has a lot of experience that she’s bringing to the table,” says Normandy Co-Owner Andy Wells.  “I think this venture will be very beneficial for not only Terry and our other designers, but our clients as well.”
