"Although our recently completed bathroom project was small, from beginning to end we felt nothing but quality, professional, kind attention. Our designer Danny Smith created a small laundry closet in our bathroom that blends in beautifully to the rest of the room. The additional storage, mini laundry basket, quality cabinetry and thoughtful storage went above our expectations. His expertise and kindness over the months long process made it so easy for us. Project manager Sean O'Donovan was attentive from day one of demolition and during construction. We are sorry we didn't do this project sooner! Our first project with Normandy in the mid 1980's ( a family room in our south Evanston home) was such a successful project (a subsequent buyer loved it as much as our family had for 20 plus years) that returning to Normandy for our north Evanston project was an automatic choice. We are truly grateful to Danny, Sean, the plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and behind the scenes Normandy talent."

"They were incredibly easy to work with. Knowledgeable and worked really well with our family’s schedules and needs. Final product was amazing and met expectations laid out in original design. Kathryn was incredibly knowledgeable and did an amazing job meeting sometimes conflicting needs such as two kids with conflicting needs who were both happy with the final product. These really feel like rooms designed for us not just from a catalog. Nick did an amazing job ensuring high quality work all around. Each contractor did truly outstanding work.

"Bryan Brisky is amazing! He is a gifted professional who took the time to understand our needs and desires and executed accordingly. Design and construction was excellent. Everything about Normandy was professional and organized. Sean O’Donavan, our Superintendent, is the poster child for professionalism and organization. Sean not only managed our project amazingly well, he kept us abreast consistently. He always ensured that ‘overlaps’ and ‘gaps’ were preemptively addressed. He was the guy behind the scene making the project run smoothly. Awesome group of professionals."

"This project had been a big dream for a long time for our family & entrusting that dream to Normandy was one of the best decisions we could have made. Vince, Chris and the team of trades made the process feel easy, enjoyable and the end product is beyond what we could have ever dreamed. We have seen neighbors go through projects with contractors that have taken months beyond the planned timeline and problems persisted - with Normandy they had every detail handled and the project timeline was accurate (if not early). We are so grateful to the team!"

"We remodeled all three of the bathrooms in our house simultaneously in the fall. Our designer, Liz Marusin, and superintendent Chris Smeaton were wonderful to work with and made sure a challenging project went as smoothly as we could have hoped. The redesign of our master bathroom made great use of the available space and functions perfectly. All 3 bathrooms are beautifully designed and installed and we are definitely enjoying them. Both Liz and Chris went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied everytime something unexpected happened and we can recommend both of them very highly. We are so glad we did this project and would definitely work with Normandy again in the future."

"We had been dreaming about remodeling our kitchen for a long time, and working with Kathryn and Shawn from Normandy made that dream a reality! From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, the entire experience was exceptional. Kathryn made the design process so enjoyable—she really listened to our vision and helped us pick out finishes that not only looked beautiful but also perfectly suited the style of our home. Her creativity and attention to detail were impressive, and she helped bring our ideas to life in ways we hadn’t imagined. Shawn was equally fantastic to work with. He kept us in the loop every step of the way, providing regular updates on the progress and ensuring that the project stayed on track. His communication was clear and consistent, making the whole process stress-free. Thanks to their teamwork, we now have the kitchen we’ve always wanted, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the final outcome. The craftsmanship, design, and overall result exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Kathryn, Shawn, and the entire Normandy team for anyone looking to transform their home!"

"First-class remodeling job. Excellent contractors. Trusted professionals."

"They stayed in touch and let us know the progress of the reconstruction they were doing, or remodeling, I would say, with pictures also. Their showroom has a lot of different samples and a lot to choose from. Vince was very helpful. He followed up on every question we had and spent time in the showroom and on our property. We enjoyed working with him. We enjoyed it."

"So helpful with suggestions for my kitchen remodel. And they have a showroom on Central Street in Evanston! Wonderful company."

"Abby and Bruce made a great team and although the pandemic made things challenging, their problem solving skills made it work to the greatest extent possible. They are two excellent representatives for the company and customer."

"We are very happy with our Normandy remodeling work on our home. We would use Normandy Builders again for any future remodeling jobs we might consider."

"Normandy did quality work. We are very excited and pleased with our newly remodeled home. It's absolutely gorgeous!"

"We are so happy with our home addition/renovation project that Normandy completed. They ensured the project ran smoothly, daily communication and high quality work. We would highly recommend them to anyone!"

"It is a pleasure working with Karen Chanan and Bruce Pettingill who are very knowledgeable and true professionals at Normandy Construction. All of the employees and subcontractors for our remodeling jobs have been great. I would highly recommend Normandy Construction to my friends"

"Normandy has worked on all three of my homes on projects ranging in scope from a large family room, bathroom, kitchen addition & remodel, to a smaller family room addition to an interior remodeling project. They are professionals who created quality, long lasting results. I would be happy to work with them on any and all of my future projects."

"We could not be more thrilled without our kitchen and back porch renovation. Normandy worked diligently with us to design our dream and show us the possibilities. We felt confident that we were getting an honest quote and knew exactly where our wishes were going to increase the estimate. There were no surprises. Everyone from my initial meeting with Becca and Jeremy, our supervisor Chris, through all the subs were great. We were continually amazed at the level of craftsmanship put into our space. I would absolutely recommend Normandy."

"This was a great experience overall. We were impressed with the ease of the remodel and one stop shopping. We are very happy with the final project."

" I just would like to thank Normandy for giving me a gorgeous kitchen that is a pleasure to cook in. Thank you so much for your help!"

"The communication was excellent. We were halfway through the project when the pandemic shutdown started. They quickly devised a way to safely continue."

"We had Normandy Remodeling upgrade our bathroom, and were very pleased with the results. Our salesperson and contractor were both a pleasure to work with. It is the bathroom we always wanted. We are glad that we chose them to do the work!"

"Overall a terrific experience that exceeded our expectations. Normandy is professional, fairly priced and our project was completed on time. The design work from Kathryn was exceptional. We absolutely loved working with her, she made our vision a reality. She also went above and beyond and helped / guided every decision. She is a true professional. We would recommend her all day long."

"The team at Normandy Remodeling, especially the designer Jennifer, walked us through a large project and gave us a fabulous home, and we can't thank them enough!"

"We thank Normandy. We really appreciate the bang-up job they did on hour house. It's a whole new beginning. We had a bungalow, and now we have a fancy new house with twice as much room that is up to code."

"I am extremely pleased with my new kitchen. I highly recommend Normandy Remodeling. The designer, Maury Jones had very helpful ideas and assisted me with designing my ideal kitchen. Ken Garrison, the project manager was great. He was very easy to work with and kept the project moving in a timely and organized manner. When a problem arose, he would address it promptly and to my satisfaction. The quality of the workmanship was excellent and the project was finished on time and on budget. I would highly recommend Normandy. Though they may be slightly more costly than other companies, I felt I got every penny's worth. I would definitely use NR again for major home renovation."

"In early 2018 we started the daunting task of moving forward with a Kitchen, Dining Room and Family Room remodel. We had several referrals, but the one person we met and knew instantly we could work with was Vince Weber at Normandy Remodeling. He came into our home and talked to us about what we envisioned for our space. While he was able to come up with his own vision he always made sure that our feelings on the project were validated and taken seriously. He kept us on track, always responded to our calls and emails and did an incredible job with designing what is now a brand new space that we love. We couldn't be happier with the professional level of service we had throughout the entire process......and we love the end result!"

"Normandy and the dream team we worked with Chris Ebert and Bruce Pettingill were outstanding. They transformed our home!!! And most important they did it ON TIME while I was 6 months pregnant. We hired them to convert our kitchen/dining room into a kitchen with a mudroom. Our home is over a hundred years old with a 18-year-old modem family room addition and my husband fondly referred to it as the Frankenstein house. He wasn't wrong - and the worst part about it was the disaster of the kitchen and the disproportionate amount of space from the old part of the home vs the new part. We had considered a couple of other firms, but from the minute Chris walked our entire home (even though he knew the project focus was only the kitchen) he won me over. He spent a lot of time learning about our home, lifestyle, tastes and asked thoughtful questions and truly served as a trusted advisor. Chris has a sharp eye and a strong vision - we knew we needed a firm like Normandy to really own the project from start to finish - but we thought we knew the direction of the design. What Chris proposed and designed was beyond anything we could have ever imagined - every single person who has walked into our home has marveled at the transformation. As soon as we hired Normandy, Chris guided us through a seamless process - his candor and honesty was so refreshing. We knew they were one of the more expensive firms, however he was considerate and conscientious of our budget and found creative ways to stay within the budget. He is a fantastic listener and kept our insights in mind. Both Chris and Bruce were outstanding communicators, and were extremely patient. Our only stipulation with hiring them was we needed to have the project completed by my due-date - May 21st Bruce and team started the work in Mid- February. I went into labor 3 days early and when I came home from the hospital my brand new kitchen had already been cleaned and was ready for our baby boy. My husband was a little skeptical before hiring Normandy but he has is a converted fan and has already started thinking about other projects with Normandy."

"How many people can say their house remodel and addition was on time, on budget, superb quality, fun, easy and no hassle? We loved Normandy and can't imagine a better experience."

"We did an addition and extensive remodeling of existing space. Normandy understands that remodeling your home can be a very emotional experience. As such, having confidence that things are progressing as you would expect and that the odd issue that comes up is in good hands is essential (and they give you confidence in both - on schedule and on budget and that you are in good hands). My husband and I are both recovering Type A's so to be able to just sit back and let Normandy be in charge was a bit counter intuitive for us. Architect Vince Weber did an incredible job of listening to what our angst points were with our current layout, helped us understand design and cost trade-offs, knew what would be correct for the period/style of our house (which was important to us), was very patient as we considered lots of alternatives, and provided good counsel when we would occasionally be in really crazy idea territory (making sure to help preserve our long term investment). After working so well with Vince, we went through a bit of withdrawal when we moved to construction and were worried we could never have as good of a relationship on that side. Our Construction Superintendent Al Lovas was everything we could have hoped for and more. He doesn't accept anything less than perfection from the team, knows how to get things done, appreciates that you have placed your confidence in him, knows that you are spending a lot of money and wants you to get good value for it, is incredibly responsive (answered texts I would send at midnight!) and is simply one of the nicest people we have ever met. And somehow Al and Vince manage to stay in touch constantly. We never spoke to one when the other wasn't up to speed. They are a great team and we are so happy we picked Normandy. I was a bit nervous about picking a design/build firm vs. architect and bid, but after having been through the process now - SO glad we did. There were plenty of places in the project where an architect and contractor might have been pointing fingers at one another - Normandy just takes care of it."

"The quality of the materials, craftsmanship of the demolition crew, carpenters, and window installers was superb. All maintained a professional approach and afterward clean workspace. We had the old windows removed out to the masonry openings, all reframed, and Pella windows installed. The ability to get the window interiors and trim painted as well as installed was a big plus. We have recommended Normandy in the past and will continue to do so."

"We had a second floor bathroom that needed to be remodeled. We interviewed 3 companies and decided to go with Normandy. I'm glad we did because they exceeded our expectations. Not only was the work completed to our satisfaction but also the team was very easy to work with. Karen Chanan was our designer and did a superb job. She started with our ideas and made the end result even better. The modern spa-like bathroom has design touches that blend perfectly with our 1925 era home. Bruce, the project manager, made sure the work was high quality and kept the communication open with us. The process was very smooth and we would certainly use Normandy again!"

“Gary Cerek and Ken Garrison were both terrific to deal with throughout the process. Each time I had a question or concern they responded to me quickly. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.”

“This past summer we had a family room and eating room built on the back of our house by you. We could not be happier with how it turned out. When they broke ground, we were told that the project would be done in a little over four months and it was done in a month and a half! I would happily recommend Normandy to others.”

“Normandy has just completed the remodeling of the only bathroom in my 100-year-old home. I am writing to tell you today to express my delight with the finished product and, in particular, to tell you how much I appreciated the work on the project by Vince Weber. Even though my project probably was a very small one by Normandy standards, to me it was huge, with a number of daunting logistical, design, construction and financial challenges. Vince came up with a solution to every problem. He saw that my work was completed on time and on budget while he created a room that is wonderful to look at and use. He made me feel very comfortable with the process and confident that I was in good hands with Normandy. I had a positive experience with Normandy overall, too. I enjoyed my visits to your showroom and my occasional contact with other members of your very pleasant and helpful staff.”

“We couldn’t find anything negative to say about them. They did an absolutely amazing job. It was done on time and done professionally. The whole thing, from the initial meeting with Jeff to meeting them at their business to go over their designs to the work when they arrived here, has been great. Al the on site manger was fantastic was absolutely wonderful. The builders themselves were pretty polite and very cognizant of us. They tried to be as quiet as possible when we were around. They finished early. This went exactly as planned. They were very professional incredibly skilled.”

“I am contacting you on behalf of our entire family. We have recently completed a quite sizeable addition to our Evanston home under the great care of both Vince Weber and Al Lovas. We were extremely pleased with the entire process from start to finish. The quality of workmanship in addition to the wonderful expertise of both Vince and Al was greatly appreciated. They are experts at their jobs while being pleasant and enjoyable to work with. Please know we would be more than welcome to provide our feedback to prospective customers. We were very satisfied with every aspect of the project.”

"They did extensive remodeling in my home. They put in wood flooring, dry wall, ceiling, electric wiring, doors, windows and a light in my family room. They did the same in the kitchen including plumbing and the bedroom as well. In the bathroom, they put down new tile flooring, shower tiles and plumbing. The work took 6 months and the total area worked on measures 1,000 square feet.  They have an extremely good service and they handle practically everything. I believe that I definitely got my money s worth from Normandy Builders. They are very friendly, helpful, and in general they are good people."

Our experience with Normandy has been about as positive as we ever could have imagined. The product is more and better than we had hoped for; and our relations with all your staff as well as subcontractors could not have been improved upon. I have happily and enthusiastically recommended Normandy to our friends strangers who have stopped to admire the addition and will continue to do so in the future.
