“Our project was completed in late 2010 but we have had Normandy come out for a tweak or two on things since (they have a 5 year warrantee) and I continue to be impressed with them and their workmanship.  In 2009, we had many problems with our 150-year old Second Empire Victorian house that other builders refused to tackle without massive cost or need for material building code variances.  We needed to replace a sagging separate garage, add a bedroom, ideally update our baths and closets to 21st  century standards.  And I truly wanted to keep all of the old character of the house.  Troy, our architect at Normandy did an amazing job.  I had a lot of demands but he was always patient and creative in his solutions.  In the end, I’d challenge anyone to figure out where our old house (and it’s very unique construction techniques and trim details) ends and where the addition begins.  We incorporated the garage into the house without making it obvious, added spiral steps, added a master bath and bedroom, modified another bath and laundry, added closets, and modified our mud room and kitchen for the new design.  Additionally they dealt with period trim and details (such as push button light switches, Victorian hinges, specific doors ) that I wanted replicated throughout the house.

Chris Beck and his team were the other reason this all worked out well.  It was a very invasive remodel, which can get emotional, but they were always understanding and professional.  We did run into a few snags — mostly due to the age of the house and prior remodeling problems that weren’t obvious on the surface, but Chris always kept things going.  They had an excellent team of artisans that dealt with custom mouldings, unusual roofing, copper work customization, stucco, etc.  We have gotten so many compliments on the house, I’ve stopped counting.  And when we’ve had a few follow-up issues, they’ve always been prompt and addressed them without complaint or hassle.

Yes, they can be more expensive than the competition, but if it’s something you want done correctly, it is definitely worth the extra cost. “

Everything is done in a professional manner. Plans are drawn up. The plans are actually adhered to. There is a project supervisor/superintendent dedicated to your project. We were always in contact with him via cellphone and we would often see him. They obtain permits and everything is done so that, at the minimum, municipal regulations/codes are satisfied. They provided a schedule of what they expected to happen on a week by week basis and they actually adhered to the schedule. They were actually ahead of schedule by two weeks towards the end.
Also, when you consult with Normandy, you get your own designer who helps you all along the way. Our designer was/is Chrstopher Ebert who was wonderful. He was attentive to what we wanted to accomplish and he also was responsive and was always willing to revisit anything that had been finalized if it meant that the project would turn out better. Chris has been so great that when we go back to Normandy, we are specifically going to request him. He has been helping us on his own time with decorationg the house, selecting paint colors and selecting furniture. He came with us to furniture stores and lighting stores to help us make the right decisions. I can’t stress enough how helpful he has been.
The other great thing about Normandy is that they guarantee their work for five years. That is practically unheard of in the remodeling world. Also, there no hidden costs that sprang up during the project. The only extras that came up were related to unforeseen problems that existed beneath the drywall which we did not know about until the old walls had been removed.
In short, they do a great job. They don’t nickel and dime you. They are professional. They are courteous. We will definitely be going to Normandy”

“Basement remodel including workout area, wine cellar, bar/kitchen, staircase, media room, and full bathroom. All the work was done really well!  Floors, cabinetry, counters, and carpentry were done meticulously well.  Kept the dust and noise down.  Took a little longer than expected, but most remodels do.”

“Normandy turned our screened-in porch into a four season living space.  Normandy exceeded all of my expectations in all regards.  We were speaking with both AirRoom and Normandy regarding this project originally but I am so happy with our decision to go with Normandy.  We discussed also bundling a kitchen remodel into this porch project and while Normany gave us wonderful options to choose from (which we decided to postpone to a later time) they were never pushy and were completely understanding of our wish to delay the project for now.  AirRoom told us they had a minimum project cost requirement of $50,000 or so (which is double what our porch project – our main priority – ended up costing with Normandy).  Anyway, back to the porch project:  Normandy did such a great job on this room that it is now our favorite place in the whole house.  We literally cannot imagine our house without this living space!  Our designer Terry was so sweet and involved with our project from start to finish.  She even brought us a thank you gift when the project was finished.  This relationship with the designer really made the whole project very pleasant.  Also, they originally gave us an estimate of 6 weeks (which in builder language would generally mean longer) and they finished in about 4 weeks just in time for the large party I had told them I would be hosting.  Normandy brought in a portable toilet for the men to use so no one ever entered our house for any reason outside of the work being done.  They also brought in a dumpster and removed any and all waste when the project was complete.  It was definitely the most non-invasive and clean house remodel I could have hoped for.  I can not recommend Normandy highly enough!  We would definitely contact them again for any remodeling projects.”
