“We hired Normandy for a curb appeal overhaul that included the design and construction of a new front porch. Our home has been transformed, our neighbors are complimenting us, and we feel great about the entire experience. We chose Normandy for two primary reasons: 1) They had done two major additions on our home (for a previous owner) and the craftsmanship still stands out today. We wanted to hire a company with a lot of experience that would do the job correctly the first time around, and a company that would stand behind their work. 2) The design created by Jeremy Paris elevated our vision for what was possible with our curb appeal. He transformed a 1950’s ranch into a home that is current and relevant with today’s trends and styles. He understood exactly what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. During the consultative process, he was always cost conscious and went above and beyond to help us make decisions that added value while saving money. We had high expectations when the construction began and Normandy never let us down. We began an outside project in January. Despite adverse weather, the contractors (cement, framing, roofing and carpentry) were all on-time, respectful, never idle, and worked every day until the project was done. We always felt that our project was a priority and we were never waiting on another job to be finished. We had direct and nearly immediate feedback from our superintendent, Brian Preston. He was always on top of things which allows us to stay relaxed throughout the process. He told us what to expect in advance, kept us informed of progress, and addressed all of our concerns. We knew we made the right decision to hire Normandy, but what really convinced us was when the former superintendent and carpenter from our home’s 1990s addition – independently – stopped by to check on our current project. They were exceedingly proud of their work and had no doubt that it would have stood the test of time. They really cared about what they had accomplished many years back as they told us stories about the construction. In today’s world, when contractors rarely return a phone call, it is refreshing to find a company whose contractors are invested for their entire career.”

“Our family hired Normandy Remodeling for a major renovation on my parents’ house. We completely redesigned the ground floor: converted sunroom into ground floor master suite, opened up living room/family room areas, redid entire kitchen, powder room, foyer. It was a major job, complicated by the fact that my wife and I were coordinating the project remotely (we are in California and my parents are in Oak Brook, Illinois) because my parents have never done a remodel and were completely daunted by the idea of doing this alone. Knowing we could call on Ashley anytime we needed help with an unexpected issue (big or small) and it would get taken care of, gave us all peace of mind and confidence during a time that ordinarily would produce intense stress and paralyzing fear. We trusted Ashley completely, and she delivered such a great experience and final product that my parents are planning at some point to work with her again on the rest of the house. Vince Weber at Normandy was the first designer to come in and actually make sense of our space! Once we talked to him, we knew we would go ahead and remodel. His design was perfect, he listened to our needs and created a functional, beautiful home for us. Vince has great taste and made the process of choosing materials fun and easy. Plus Rick Ruh and his crew made the 5 month construction process go very smoothly! He communicated well, coordinated everything and kept the project moving along. “Having vague thoughts of remodeling our 25 year old oak kitchen, my husband and I stopped in Normandy’s showroom on our way to dinner in Oak Brook. It was our good fortune that Leslie Molloy was working that afternoon. She made us feel welcome, gave us a tour of Normandy’s complete showroom, and understood the uncertainty of our situation. With no pressure she led us through some design possibilities. Once we saw the concept drawing of what our kitchen could be, these empty nesters were hooked. Leslie is knowledgeable in all aspects of kitchen design and the pros and cons of material choices. Although we didn’t change the structure of the kitchen, it now functions better with the variety of cabinet/drawer features Leslie used in the design. And she added some decorative elements to make it special. We also updated an adjacent office. The look is modern and cohesive. Leslie is a talented designer, very patient, and a lot of fun to work with. We love our new kitchen and office!!”

“We have had 2 significant projects with Normandy Remodeling over the last several years. The first was a complete overhaul of our kitchen. The project took the existing kitchen and half bath all the way to the studs and was rebuilt into a more open and inviting space. Ann Stockard was our designer and she was outstanding. Our second project was a tear down of a 1930’s garage and replaced with a spacious garage that accommodates 2 cars and ample storage both on the main floor as well as in the attic. Again, Ann was the designer and it matches the house perfectly in every detail. It looks like it is the original garage. “My husband and I had a large enough project consisting of redoing our kitchen and adding a large sunroom adjoining the kitchen. Our kitchen had been somewhat small and dated. We met with a Normandy architect Vince, who planned with us every step of the project. He worked with many of our ideas and transformed them into a lovely kitchen/sunroom. We are so happy with the results!! Vince helped plan and execute with Normandy all that was promised. No surprises. Except that the entire project was finished three weeks before the scheduled time of completion. Eric the superintendent supervised the day to day work and kept everything running smoothly. Would we recommend them? Absolutely! Would I recommend them? Absolutely!”

“Right from the beginning, we knew Normandy was going to be special. We did our due diligence and shopped around for a builder for our kitchen addition/remodel. We interviewed three different builders. When getting the quotes, the first guy handed us one sheet of paper with a final cost and five different “allowances”, for flooring, cabinetry, countertops, etc. Normandy was the second quote and I’ll describe this experience in a moment. The third guy mailed us one sheet of paper with a final price on it and no allowances at all. Neither of these builders had bothered to even hand draw a quick schematic of the job. Then there was Normandy. We were matched with their kitchen designer, Leslie Molloy. She came to the house and took photos of the space, inside and out. She listened, really listened, to what we were hoping for our new kitchen and what problems the current kitchen was causing us. Then we met with her at Normandy’s beautiful showroom. She had 3 different options waiting for us in full color. They were complete drawings that one could really see how it was going to look. They were three different costs, too, with the first one improving the kitchen without any addition and the last one was the most expensive but also the most functional. We were pleasantly surprised that the Normandy quote was not out of the ballpark. In fact they came in right in between the two other builders’ quotes. Leslie did not pressure us to choose any of the designs over the others and we did not feel any pressure to make a decision in their time-frame. We chose the design with all the bells and whistles. Over the next couple of months, while plans were being drawn up, Leslie helped us with our choice of cabinetry, countertops, drawer pulls, etc. Again, she offered her expertise and suggestions, but the choices were definitely ours. She is incredibly talented at what she does and she couldn’t have been better to work with. Then she handed our project over to the builders and our superintendent Rick. Rick was incredible and efficient. His attention to detail and concern about how the work was going could not have been better. When we had a suggestion for something that hadn’t come up before, he never made us feel like we should not mention it. He was open and honest with us and oversaw our project perfectly. But it must be easy for him to do his job, because the craftsmen that came into our house were top notch. Everyone from the electrician, Scott, to the trim carpenter, Adam, were experts in their jobs. Small glitches were corrected quickly and everything came together almost seamlessly. And the project ended when they said it would. We are incredibly happy with our beautiful new kitchen/dining room/mudroom. I am so glad that we hired Normandy for this important work.
