"We hired Normandy for a curb appeal overhaul that included the design and construction of a new front porch. Our home has been transformed, our neighbors are complimenting us, and we feel great about the entire experience. We chose Normandy for two primary reasons: 1) They had done two major additions on our home (for a previous owner) and the craftsmanship still stands out today. We wanted to hire a company with a lot of experience that would do the job correctly the first time around, and a company that would stand behind their work. 2) The design created by Jeremy Paris elevated our vision for what was possible with our curb appeal. He transformed a 1950's ranch into a home that is current and relevant with today’s trends and styles. He understood exactly what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. During the consultative process, he was always cost conscious and went above and beyond to help us make decisions that added value while saving money. We had high expectations when the construction began and Normandy never let us down. We began an outside project in January. Despite adverse weather, the contractors (cement, framing, roofing and carpentry) were all on-time, respectful, never idle, and worked every day until the project was done. We always felt that our project was a priority and we were never waiting on another job to be finished. We had direct and nearly immediate feedback from our superintendent, Brian Preston. He was always on top of things which allows us to stay relaxed throughout the process. He told us what to expect in advance, kept us informed of progress, and addressed all of our concerns. We knew we made the right decision to hire Normandy, but what really convinced us was when the former superintendent and carpenter from our home’s 1990s addition - independently - stopped by to check on our current project. They were exceedingly proud of their work and had no doubt that it would have stood the test of time. They really cared about what they had accomplished many years back as they told us stories about the construction. "We visited Normandy’s amazing showroom at the beginning of March just to “take a look” and that visit helped us to decide to finally remodel our kitchen which included enclosing a small back porch and designing a banquette for a breakfast nook. Our designers, Maury Jones and Abby Osborn, embraced the challenge of turning our very small kitchen into a beautiful, storage-filled space. We knew we wanted a small island with a cooktop. Other designers might have discouraged that idea, but they were able to incorporate an island that seats 2 people and included an induction cooktop into the design. They honestly used every half-inch of space in our tiny 1925 kitchen. Our supervisor, Brian Preston, managed all the contractors’ schedules with professionalism, a determined get-it-done attitude, and a sense of humor. When we asked how they handle “hidden” problems that can arise in an old house, Brian said “there are no problems, only issues that can be resolved.” Our kind of guy! Every contractor was exceptional. They respected us and our home, were experts in their trades, very friendly, and kept everything as clean as possible under the circumstances. We constantly catch ourselves looking around our kitchen and saying “wow!” From start to finish, Normandy more than exceeded our expectations—we’re thrilled! Our experience was so good that when we remodel our basement next year, we hope to welcome back the same group of Normandy folks again!"

Our kitchen remodel did not go perfectly -- there were some issues with the flooring materials and with the faucet that was ordered -- but it cost us time, not money. Designer Troy Pavelka was exceptionally attentive -- a call did not go unanswered. And his design solved problems in a solid way -- it looked good, it worked, and it was in keeping with our more than 100-year-old home. Supervisor Chris Beck was similarly on the ball. Our home is more than 100 years old, so we were looking for something that was in keeping with an older home while at the same time updating a very outdated kitchen and space. It turned out very well -- and we are exceptionally happy with the result. It was not perfect. There were some issues with the floor materials and with a faucet, but it cost us time more than money. And it ended up being what we wanted. Our designer, Troy Pavelka gave us a unique design solution for the space that was in keeping with the rest of the house (a recent guest made that very comment upon seeing the finished kitchen). And both Troy and supervisor Chris Beck were attentive and responsive. It was not cheap. But we got what we wanted -- and it fits with our home. And we would use them again -- and likely will."
