Spa-like Bathroom Ideas
The first step to attaining your spa-like bathroom is to determine what feels โspa-likeโ to you, including colors and layouts.ย For these homeowners, Carrara marble was a must for their new bathroom because of the simple, soothing colors.ย โThey knew they wanted it not only for bathroom floor tile, but also on the walls,โ says Normandy Designer Chris Ebert.ย โTo keep the space interesting while incorporating that goal, we used different sizes and shapes of the Carrara marble tile throughout the bathroom.ย Another
element in their vision of a spa-like bathroom remodelย was a freestanding bathtub, so we put a modern twist on a classic French freestanding tub by placing it along an angled wall set between two sinks.ย This tub also served as the roomโs focal point.โ
โLighting plays a big role in any spa-like bathroom because youโre never going to find plain task lighting at a spa; you need ambient lighting to really make the spa aesthetic work,โ commented Chris.ย โFor this bathroom we went with simple, elegant sconces to complement the console sinks and the rest of the Parisian inspired bathroom.ย ย There’s also a beautiful chandelier that adds some glam to the space.”
โAnother vital element in any bathroom remodel, regardless of the style, is attractive storage. In this case, we incorporated recessed medicine cabinets lined with the Carrara marble above each console sink. However, that really wasnโt enough for this master bathroom, so we brought in a white cabinetry tower that contributed to the light, open concept of the rest of the space.โ
