The Designers at Normandy Remodeling have put together six bathroom remodel trends for the New Year. According to them, you’ll be head over heels for the materials, colors and patterns and notice that luxury continues to be desired. So, without further ado, here is what you can expect to fall in love with over and over again in 2018 and for many years to come.

Navy Blue Cabinetry – Navy is the new neutral. You’ll see this color incorporated into vanities. As an added bonus, the color blue is associated with tranquility and calmness.
Patterned Floor Tile – Homeowners are going to be bold with their floor tiles. You’ll see all kinds of shapes and patterns – herringbone, basket weave, geometrical shapes and floral embellishments to name a few.
Free Standing Bathtubs – Bathrooms are becoming spa-like. Many choose to incorporate a free-standing bathtub into their remodel because it is a beautiful focal point and it provides a luxurious bath experience. Freestanding bathtubs have always come in a variety of styles and now are they are coming in more colors too. Many manufacturers are starting to offer black and customized colors.
Camouflaged Technology – Tech continues to be incorporated into bathrooms, but now, it is even more immersed into designs. This includes televisions that are flush within vanity mirrors, high-tech toilet seats and radiant heating with smart thermostats to tell you the weather. The shower experience has also been improved with electronic shower valves that have blue-tooth speakers and smart presets to set your preferred water temperature. Kohler also offers a vanity mirror that has Amazon Alexa embedded into it.
Porcelain – Porcelain tile has been growing in popularity and it will continue to be a favorite for bathrooms in 2018. It is non-porous, which means it does not need to be sealed. It also does a beautiful job of imitating marble, but with much more durability.
Moving Beyond the Obvious Finish Options – Now-a-days, there are so many more options when it comes to finishes. Instead of your standards like brushed nickel and polished chrome, more bathrooms will feature gold, black, titanium, matte brass and soft brass finishes.
