2024 Contractor of the Year Award

Full Bathroom to Powder Room is a Winning Transformation

Reconfiguring space is one of Normandy Designer Jackie Jensen‘s super powers. In working through challenges for a kitchen remodel, the adjoining spaces were evaluated for how well they used their valuable square footage, and after thoughtful consideration, Jackie and the family decided to downgrade a first floor full bathroom to a more appropriately sized powder room, but what a powder room it is.

White shiplap walls, dramatic black cabinetry and a fun floor tile give this bathroom all the personality you could ever want. With two young boys in the house, an extra wide sink with two faucets means no waiting as they wash up for dinner.

Smart use of this bathroom not only gave the kitchen its much-needed additional square footage, it’s now tailored to fit the needs of this growing family. The judges from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry of Greater Chicagoland chapter agreed that it was a well executed solution to a tricky bathroom challenge, meriting a Contractor of the Year Award.

Sometimes the solution to your kitchen space constraints lies outside its four walls. Set up a time to talk with Jackie about how to make the most of your home’s square footage, or find ideas and inspiration on Facebook and Instagram.
