2025 Remodeler of the Year Award

An updated look and desire for a larger walk-in closet spurred this stunning primary bathroom remodel for a couple in Shorewood, IL. They chose Normandy Designer Laura Barber, who they had successfully remodeled with before, and began the design conversation, which included talk of an addition to make room for the expanded closet.

But Laura came up with a solution that didn’t require a pricey addition: move the location of the toilet. This provided room to expand the closet by several feet within the existing footprint. Then came some dramatic changes in the look of the space, such as a bold black vanity, a palette they wouldn’t have normally considered but loved the result.

These small but effective tweaks delivered on this couple’s vision. With the newly shifted layout and striking transformation, this project checked all the design solution boxes and caught the eye of a panel of judges from the Chicagoland chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.

These industry experts from across Chicagoland selected this stunning primary bathroom with a Remodeler of the Year award for its clever problem solving and excellent design solutions.
