This stunning eclectic kitchen by Normandy Designer Ashley Noethe earned a 2025 Master Design Award, making it this kitchen’s second award win! This kitchen is a perfect study in linear design and the aesthetic range of rift cut white oak.

This Clarendon Hills, IL family wanted a space that felt more focused for gatherings, and was more aesthetically aligned with the rest of the home. Ashley adjusted the size and location of island for better aisle clearances, seating, storage, and proper proportion.

From the island to paneled double refrigerators to the minimalist hood, this design features a range of stains that demonstrate the versatility of rift cut white oak and new lighter and more modern look of oak in home remodeling.

Changes in layout and the dramatic aesthetic upgrades caught the eyes of the judges for a second time. Kitchen remodels for the Master Design Awards, by Qualified Remodeler Magazine, are judged on aesthetic appeal, construction techniques used, handling of unusual situations, attention to detail, functionality of space and overall impression of the project.
