2012 Remodeling Excellence Award

Historic Home Remodel Wins Award

Successfulย historic home renovationsย are all about the details, and Normandy Designer Gary Cerekย hitย a home run withย thisย La Grange home renovation. Decorative mouldings and detailsย throughout the remodel were a must to stayย in line with the homeโ€™s traditional Victorian roots.ย  After that, however, each spouse had different concerns and needs for the home that needed to be addressed as well.ย  For instance, the wine-enthusiast husband had a wine and beverage center on his wish list, and the wife wanted the office to be adjoining with the rest of the home for an open layout.

โ€œWe included various unique interior details such as tray ceilings with crown moldings and rope lighting. Theย kitchenย and office areas boast custom arched cabinetry with glass display and a mix of both painted and cherry cabinetry, exuding a timeless, elegant feel,โ€ says Gary, โ€œWe really wanted to make this home stand out as a Victorian, but also give it special features that youโ€™re not going to find in every home.โ€

Industry peers agree thatย this projectย was a beautiful historic renovation that stayed true to its roots whileย maintaining a stately aesthetic from room to room, and the home received a Remodeling Excellence Award from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry Chicagoland.
