What we’re looking for:
Architecture / Design Background – Preferably residential design, licensing is not required.

CAD – AutoCad, Chief Architect, Sketchup or similar proficiency would be preferred, as well as a willingness to learn Chief Architect.

– Meeting with clients to develop design ideas for their home that suits their needs and their budget

– Selecting and recommending finishes and products for the newly proposed space

– Serving as a consultant to our clients and manage the relationship with homeowners, from initial contact through the construction of their project

You will meet with clients in-home, throughout the Chicagoland area, as well as in our inspirational Hinsdale and Evanston Design Studios. You will frequently work in communities with historically significant homes that require design sensitivity and creativity. Our focus is solely residential, with an emphasis on additions, kitchens, bathrooms and whole home renovations for our clients. Normandy Designers regularly win local and national awards for our remodeling excellence.

To be successful in this role, a minimum of 6 years of kitchen and bath design and sales experience is preferred. You should possess an ability to communicate well with others in a collaborative environment. Chief Architect skills are highly preferred, but most importantly, you should be energetic and have a willingness to learn.

- Drafting kitchen and bathroom floorplans and elevations, as well as the assembly of specifications 
- Working closely with designers to provide feedback and suggestions to ensure the project meets the customer's needs and provides maximum value to their home

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, experience with 2019LT is a plus
- Chief Architect experience is a plus
- Experience in high-end custom kitchen and bathroom design
- A deep understanding of NKBA design guidelines  
- Must possess a strong technical understanding of appliance specifications and the ability to effectively read, interpret, and apply them to ensure accurate fit and installation 
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail, specifically cabinet construction and installation considerations 

This is hybrid work position, requiring you to work in our Hinsdale Design Studio three days per week, with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

The service and experience that customers receive during construction leaves a lasting impression, and successful communication and execution of the project is critical to creating happy customers, which in turn creates a strong referral base. Normandy Designers begin the relationship with the clients, and maintain the client relationship throughout construction. However, Superintendents are the primary source of contact for customers during the construction phase of their project. Our staff of architects and our expediters will support you with plans and purchasing assistance for each project.
